Delete your Cirlo account
You can delete your account yourself, in the app, in about a minute. If you cannot get into the app, email us and we will do it for you.
Delete it in the app
- Open Cirlo and sign in.
- Tap your own orb in the middle of your orbit to open your profile.
- Under Account, tap Account & Security.
- Tap Delete account, then confirm with Delete my account.
If you have not created an account yet and are using Cirlo on this phone only, the same row is called Delete my orbit. If you signed in with Apple, Apple asks you to sign in one more time. That is how Cirlo disconnects from your Apple ID.
Cannot get into the app?
Email privacy@cirlo.app from the email address on your account (or tell us the phone number you sign in with), with the subject line “Delete my account”. In the message, tell us:
- The email address or phone number you sign in with.
- Your Cirlo username, if you remember it. It helps us find the right account.
- That you want the whole account deleted.
A real person reads every message and we usually reply within a day or two. Writing from the email address on your account, or giving us your sign-in phone number, lets us confirm it is yours.
What gets deleted
Your account is deactivated right away and you are signed out. It stays recoverable for 30 days. If you sign back in during that time, your orbit is restored.
After 30 days it is permanently and irreversibly deleted:
- Your profile, username and sign-in credentials
- Your connections, Circles and notes
- Your connection requests
- Your Recap and Yearbook data
- Your uploaded files, like photos
- Your name and photo from other people’s connection records, so you no longer appear in their orbits
What we keep, and for how long
- Things you sent to someone else. A Yearbook signature or a Pulse you sent stays in that person’s own history, because it is their record. We remove the link to your account. If you signed with your name shown, your first name stays on it. If you signed anonymously, nothing that identifies you stays. You can ask us to review and remove something by emailing privacy@cirlo.app.
- Blocks and reports. Kept for as long as they help keep people safe, so a decision can be reviewed.
- Records the law requires, like tax records, for the period the law sets. We may also keep limited information to prevent fraud or handle a legal claim.
- Backups. A copy that sits in a backup is kept apart from any use until it can be deleted.
- A data export you made. The download link works for 24 hours and the file is deleted after 7 days.
Want to remove only some things?
You do not have to delete your whole account.
- Delete any connection, including ones you imported from your contacts. It is removed immediately, along with the one-way hash we use to tell you when that person joins Cirlo.
- Delete any Yearbook signature from your own Yearbook, or revoke your signing link, whenever you like.
- Export a copy of your data first: Settings, then Privacy, then Export your data.
To ask us to delete something specific, email privacy@cirlo.app.
